Thanks to musterbrand we can test their Counter-Strike Softshell Jacket. This jacket is designed in the characteristic two coloured theme and is part of musterbrand’s CS:GO collection. It is a high-quality and very functional softshell jacket.

In combination with the Hardshell Jacket, you will be prepared for even extremely low temperatures. The contrast bonding is made from soft fleece fabric for a maximum of comfort. It is quiet funny that a games magazine testing a jacket, but we think that Merch is a big part of to the gaming industry and we want you to buy stuff that you can wear not only once. We are not chemists so we have to trust the developer about the material composition the jacket is made of. Take a look:

In opposite to musterbrand’s StarCraft Hoodie which we tasted not long ago, this jacket is designed by musterbrand. We think that the blue and orange colors design consistent great to the design of Counter Strike’s CTs. The colours are also coordinated very well and fit together with other Musterbrand Counter Strike products. What we like is that the CS:GO Logo (inside and outside) matches great to the rest because they have keep the design very discreet. This jacket comes with a keychain shaped like a parachute cord what also gives the jacket a special touch.

We have found out that you should order the Hoodie one size bigger than your normal dress size. Hence the jacket is not incredible heavy and made of thin material it does not squeeze you. The tissue does not scratch or feel bad in any way. The jacket is very comfortable and keeps you warm. We were lucky to have the right weather to test it. Only with a T-Shirt under this jacket we had no problems to feel comfortable at a temperature of 5 – 10°. It is although permeable to air. We also walked for a couple minutes in rain and our T-Shirt did not get wet but you have to keep in mind that it is not a special jacket for rain. To keep your head dry the jacket has a useful hood. The black zippers are easy to open and close. In addition to the two pockets on the inside, the jacket has pockets on each side and on the chest on the outside. The chest pocket is very useful for example for smartphones.

In order to not to destroy the jacket we have follow the instructions (machine wash 30° gentle/ do not bleach/ do not tumble dry/ cool iron/ iron with a cloth/ do not dry clean). We washed the jacket three times and it still looks very good. The colors are still preserved, and the seams are still like they should be. Cheap jackets get damaged quickly in the axillary area but not this one. During our 4 hours walk with my little sun we found out that despite of friction of the sleeves the jacket get not damaged.

The jacket’s task is to protect carriers of fine drizzle, short showers and wind with the greatest possible comfort. We think that the CS-Softshell completed these tasks very well.
This jacket is not very favorable with the price of 159.00€ / $ 169.99 but the Counter Stricke Softshell is a truly special collector’s item of long lasting quality. We think that valuable merchandise has found its right spot here and the price is suitable. If you want to get some good clothes, think about this jacket, too. We are very satisfied with it.
