Hi-Rez released the Mid Season Patch, a major update for SMITE, as well as launching the official Mac version of the game. The update includes the new god Erlang Shen, starts the Summer of SMITE event and brings significant gameplay changes like changes in passive abilities and new items.

The newest SMITE god, released as part of the Mid Season Patch, is Erlang Shen, The Illustrious Sage. Erlang is a famous Chinese god who once did battle with fellow SMITE god Sun Wukong. Like Sun Wukong, Erlang Shen has the ability to transform into various animals and this is reflected in his abilities in game. For the full details watch Erlang’s god reveal video right here.

The Mid Season Patch also introduces significant gameplay changes like changes in passive abilities, new items and is available on PC now. The patch will hit the console versions of SMITE soon. Full details can be found in the patch notes here.

SMITE is also now officially playable on Mac. Hi-Rez is happy to release the much requested Mac OS X version of SMITE exclusively via Steam today. It is playable on MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, and Mac mini computers that meet minimum system specifications.

The Summer of SMITE event has begun: Similar to last year’s event, players will be able to unlock various summer themed in game items and skins with each week culminating in one ultimate prize if they unlock all of the content.
