Dropzone Looks Back On A Successful Gamescom

More than 700 beautifully themed square meters in the Entertainment Area with 40 game stations. Thousands of players, long queues, more than 2,000 matches played with 42,000 uploaded cores and 26,000 destroyed hives. We can safely state that gamescom 2016 was a big success for developer Sparkypants, publisher Gameforge and their competitive RTS Dropzone.

.

But some of the magic happened behind closed doors: trade visitors and journalists were treated to a first showing of the new 2v2 mode. This highly tactical mode adds a new layer of depth and cooperation to the game. Dropzone is in closed beta right now.

The new CGI trailer, made for Gamescom, is available to view with a tutorial video to help new players master the battle for the cores. Enjoy the both right here:

About Dropzone

.

Dropzone is the first, new game IP from game developer Sparkypants Studios, comprised of seasoned RTS veterans of Big Huge Games. Dropzone brings together classic attributes of Real-Time Strategy such as map control and multi units the player must direct, with 1v1 intense online competitive play and familiar keyboard and mouse controls. Players must develop their tactics, customize their Rigs to suit their play-style, and then bring them into battle against their opponent to see who can score the most points during a 15-minute match. Dropzone provides for a vast array of choices between Rigs and their load-out, and rich variety of maps set on alien-infested Europa over which players will contest. Dropzone is set for a 2016 release as a free download for PC. You can read more at http://www.PlayDropzone.com.
