Sony started their own crowdfunding project called First Flight. This will allow Sony’s staff to implement their own Business ideas and Projects and to get the necessary start-up. Supporters or Bakers not only can invest money in this projects, they also can pro-order or buy the presented hardware.

Two of the three projects been successful funded: A MESH-Smart-DIY-Kit and a FES-E-Ink-Watch. The HUIS-Remote-Controller is with 52 percent on a good way to be funded.

First Flight is only available in Japan until now but they want to expand the Crowdfunding-Platform in other regions, too. It could be that they expand this platform also for software after the success with Shenmue 3 but Sony did not say any word about this.
