A new era is about to begin thanks to Assetto Corsa Competizione, the Official Videogame of the Blancpain GT Series, developed by KUNOS Simulazioni and published by 505 Games.

This April at Monza, in parallel with the first Round of 2019 Blancpain GT Series championship by SRO Motorsports Group, a new e-sport initiative will happen that provides the opportunity for 3 top sim racers to be accepted into Lamborghini Squadra Corse for a racing experience, where those lucky sim racers will be evaluated for driving, physical and mental skills and will live a racing experience with the team. All info will soon be available at sro-esport.com.

.

GT3 racing fans from all over the world will be served with an official virtual championship, organized by SRO Motorsports Group and Kunos Simulazioni with the key support of Pirelli, worldwide leader for road and track tyres and AK Informatica, the Italian gaming hardware and events company with 10 years of expertise in the field.

.

RaceDepartment will be on site as Official Media Partner of the initiative, and will provide live streams coverage, video showcases, interviews, articles and official forum support.

.

The SRO E-Sport GT Series virtual season will feature 4 rounds and a Grand Finale taking place at some of the finest and most historic circuits in the world:

.

  • Monza – Italy
  • Paul-Ricard – France
  • Spa-Francorchamps – Belgium
  • Nurburgring GP – Germany
  • Grand Finale in Barcelona – Spain

.

The championship will include on-site and on-line contenders and features PRO e-sport invitational drivers that will race in a dedicated Sim Racing Arena featuring 12 high-end simulators and will be challenged by online qualifiers (SILVER Class) and on-site drivers selected amongst these races’ public (AM Class).

.

Any Assetto Corsa Competizione player will be eligible to join the competition by following the official website sro-esport.com where the championship regulation will be posted and updated together with media material, highlights and exclusive insights.

.

The competition will feature 3 classes:

  • 12 PRO – Invitational pro e-sport drivers and celebrities that will be selected by the organization.
  • 12 SILVER – ACC drivers participating to an online leaderboard. They will need to register as SILVER drivers on sro-esport.com and they will score their Hotstint attempt by playing the SRO E-Sport GT Series Special Event inside the game, in the Special Events section.
  • 12 AMATEUR drivers – Drivers selected on-site during the Fridays and Saturdays of the rounds. Monza will be the only exception, with the on-site selection of AM Class starting on Saturday morning.

.

Each of the 3 classes will have the same amount of opportunity to win the round final, since there will be 3 class finals (PRO, SILVER, AM) composed by 12 drivers each. The top 4 drivers of each class semi-final will join the round final (4 PROs, 4 SILVERs, 4 AMs) and the round final podium drivers will be celebrated on the track’s real podium, since any of these 5 events will be held during the corresponding real race weekends of Blancpain GT Series.
