The First Unreal Engine Student Highlight Reel

Epic Games has always been committed to fostering the growth of video game development amongst students and schools since CEO Tim Sweeney founded the company in 1991. With Unreal Engine 4, Epic first provided discounted rates and eventually free usage of the engine to the academic community, and also began awarding no-strings-attached grants (a program totalling $5 million), as part of their Unreal Dev Grants initiative, to students earlier this year.

.

With UE4, students have the opportunity to use the engine at no cost and create studio-quality work, and therefore stand out from the crowd. The Epic team is proud to provide a gateway for the next generation of developers, and recently compiled a sizzle reel of a few amazing student projects.

.

“Small student teams all over the world are doing amazing, pro-caliber work in Unreal Engine,” remarked Luis Cataldi, education evangelist for Epic Games. “There were many noteworthy projects from top schools to choose from when building this reel. It’s exciting to see students from all levels of education embracing Unreal Engine 4 to help achieve their dreams and career goals.”
